I have a very active four year old daughter who always keeps me on my toes to come up with new ideas to keep her entertained. I made this activity up on my own -- friendly, funky monsters made out of random crafting material I have and recycled materials.
- What you will need:
- empty cereal boxes (or any type of thin cardboard)
- buttons, feathers, stickers, eyeballs, markers, crayons, ribbon -- whatever you have lying around your crafting stuff
- scissors (for both you and the child)
- glue
- popsicle sticks
- clothespins
- cut out shapes for the head & body (or let your child do it if they are old enough)
- color the cut outs
- glue on the random materials however the child wants to
This project was wonderful because it fueled her creativity, helped with learning cutting skills, and using glue properly. Plus it was -- she wanted to make "a million". We will probably doing this again or something similar soon!
